Welcome
This is a place to read short, easy English stories. There is no test and no homework here. Just read and enjoy. Here are a few tips to help you.
Looking up words
Some of the more difficult words can be clicked. Tap a word to see its meaning in Japanese. The word stays marked, so you can see which words you checked. You don't need to check every word. Only tap a word when you really cannot understand the sentence without it. If you are signed in, the words you look up are saved in My words, so you can review them later. Your teacher can also see them, to help you with your reading.
Choosing your level
The stories come in three levels. Start with Level 1 and see how it feels. A good level is one where you understand most of the story without stopping. If you must stop very often, try an easier story. If it feels too easy, move up a level.
Read in a relaxed way
You do not need to understand every word. The most important thing is to read in a relaxed way. Try to follow the story and enjoy it. Read as slowly or as quickly as you like. If a story feels too hard, that is okay. Just stop and choose another one. Reading many easy stories helps your English more than struggling with one hard story.
About the stories
There are fairy tales, true life stories, and short articles about interesting things. Each one is short and complete. You can read them in any order you like.
